When Opposites Attract…

When Opposites Attract…

Having witnessed the savagery of domestic violence it became clear at a very early age how women should not treated. Women, and men for that matter, deserve respect, kindness, love and a whole host of other offerings too numerous to list. Unfortunately, we live in a broken world, so, this is not always the case.

After more close to two months of virtual isolation the reports of domestic violence are on the rise. Suicide, last year was waining but this year it is climbing higher than ever before. Our world was broken and in seriously deep dark waters before experimental global martial law was unleashed. We are now seeing the fruit of this experiment. Wait until people are released from their jail cells (homes) with freshly compromised immune systems. Illness is going to skyrocket. Brokenness is going to put on a whole other layer.

We are taught, by virtue of being in this world, that certain aspect of life are to be expected. Violence is one such aspect. Well, we are taught, as children, to defend ourselves with a violent response. This is the exact opposite of Jesus Christ teaches us. We are taught, typically as young adults, that barren women are not fulfilled. This is not what the Bible teaches. Society teaches us we are be rich and famous. The teachings of Jesus Christ couldn’t be clearer on this topic. Meek and humble should be the order of the day.

Some of these have been difficult lessons, while others have been as as easy to learn as it is to breath. What do we need to know from our Father about these lessons? What are we to do with His teachings? Are the lessons He gave us merely suggestions or are they how we are to live? If we accept these lessons and act upon them, with every step taken and every breathe drawn, what would our Father do in response? What would we learn?

Isiah 54 NKJV

4 Do not fear, for you will not be ashamed;
Neither be disgraced, for you will not be put to shame;
For you will forget the shame of your youth,
And will not remember the reproach of your widowhood anymore.
5 For your Maker is your husband,
The Lord of hosts is His name;
And your Redeemer is the Holy One of Israel;
He is called the God of the whole earth.
6 For the Lord has called you
Like a woman forsaken and grieved in spirit,
Like a youthful wife when you were refused,”
Says your God.
7 “For a mere moment I have forsaken you,
But with great mercies I will gather you.
8 With a little wrath I hid My face from you for a moment;
But with everlasting kindness I will have mercy on you,”
Says the Lord, your Redeemer.
9 “For this is like the waters of Noah to Me;
For as I have sworn
That the waters of Noah would no longer cover the earth,
So have I sworn
That I would not be angry with you, nor rebuke you.
10 For the mountains shall depart
And the hills be removed,
But My kindness shall not depart from you,
Nor shall My covenant of peace be removed,”
Says the Lord, who has mercy on you.
11 “O you afflicted one,
Tossed with tempest, and not comforted,
Behold, I will lay your stones with colorful gems,
And lay your foundations with sapphires.
12 I will make your pinnacles of rubies,
Your gates of crystal,
And all your walls of precious stones.
